Cheers to the arrival of summer CBI/BSI family!
To mark the start of the season, we have an exciting employee newsletter to share.
The Napkin Story
Have you ever wondered how CBI initially started?
Well, as many great origin stories go, CBI began on a napkin at a bar. Mike owned a company that specialized in plumbing work, as well as backflow. Don started his career as a contractor. Mike, being the traditional plumber he is, strayed from the salesman’s agenda. He preferred “doing” rather than being in an office, talking to people, and selling things. Through working at various job sites together, Mike and Don formed a strong friendship. One day after a round of golf, they ventured to a bar for drinks. As the drinks flowed, so did the ideas. While scribbling on a napkin, they realized the true potential of what backflow could be, and the rest is history!

IT Updates
“Here are the updates that rolled out in the past few weeks. The IT Team is wrapping up a massive addition to the BSI Online program. This will add tons of new features to our municipal customers. The organizational side of our system is now complete. This allows the customer to access practically everything they need including test reports and letters they send to the water purveyors. Also, they will be able to access all the statistics they need for the testers.”
– Thanks for all your hard work on the IT side, guys!

Family Ties
The CBI/BSI family roots run deep! Natalie and Pete have remained an imperative husband and wife team, stemming from Natalie’s father, our founder, Don. Natalie’s brother, Nick, also works for us as a CBI Customer Service Representative. When we say we are a “family company”, we truly are!
The CBI/BSI family is always growing, with more on the way! We would proudly like to announce the following additions:
Executive Update: Irrigation Season
“As most of you are aware, we are in the middle of our busiest time of year, also known as “Irrigation Season.” This will continue on until August, as all the backflow devices attached to irrigation systems are typically due during this time period. This results in thousands of letters being sent each day. We greatly appreciate all the hard work the team is putting in, and we could not be successful without YOU!”
Brad Stancampiano
Executive Vice President
Christine Walsh
Vice President of Operations
We are now in the final implementation stage of our new HR program, Trupay. Aside from the new payroll module, which will take some stress off of Barb, Natalie and Chrissy as well as help them streamline the payroll process! Trupay is also an attractive alternative for employees because it offers more hands-on features including, employees being able to make changes in address, emergency contacts, federal withholdings, 401k, as well as direct deposit accounts.
We would like to give these ladies including Natalie a special shout out for being proactive and combating the paper and envelope shortages by tracking down cases of both from all over the country! This made our busiest season a whole lot busier but thanks to this team we have been able to get the job done. It wouldn’t have been possible without them. Thank you for all that you do!”
