Insights from a Tester’s Perspective

When a water purveyor partners with BSI Online, the time needed to administer a robust and compliant cross-connection control program significantly decreases. Our professional team generates and mails testing notifications, certifies testers and test kit credentials, and fields customer services inquires. Test entry is handled by testers directly, even in the field, and your database is instantly updated via our cloud-based solution.

At a glance, the backflow assembly tester files all test reports via BSI Online and pays a filing fee for each report, with the ability to add, save, and store multiple payment methods. We verify all backflow contractor licenses and test kit calibration certifications. 

Directly from the BSI Online dashboard, testers are able to: 

  • View analytical/color-coded graphs and charts such as assemblies tested this year versus last year, assemblies tested this month, and assemblies tested the last 12 months. 
  • View testing company profile and details. 
  • View overall rank amongst all testers in the BSI Online system. 
  • Enter a test and navigate to your cart. 

Enter Test Results Directly from the Field 

Test entry is easy from the field on a phone or tablet. We have made it even easier with stored payment methods. All test forms in the BSI system are set up per assembly type and per state/provincial standard. Testers submit on site…direct results! 

Update Credentials Directly in BSI Online 

Testers can update licenses and test gauge calibrations directly in the system. Red notifications indicate expiring credentials or credentials not yet vetted by BSI. Once they are expired, testers will not be able to enter test reports. Upon login, testers will immediately see if any of credentials are expiring.  

Media Upload Upon Test Entry 

Testers have the ability to upload media into BSI Online upon submission of a test report. Testers can select one (1) or multiple images/documents to share. These will be uploaded into BSI Online in real-time and the water purveyor has immediate access to the media. 

Email Notification in BSI Online

Upon submission of a test report to BSI Online, stakeholders (the water purveyor, water customer, and testing company) will automatically be emailed transaction confirmation details! From this email, you can view receipt details, download receipts, and even download receipts by address. 

Search for Properties 

In a search box, testers can search for properties based on their property name, property address, or CCN (Customer Confirmation Number). You can also search for an assembly serial number.  

Add New Properties and Assemblies Through BSI Online

This product feature provides additional ease, more control, and helps speed up the approval process for our testing community. Any new installation or previously unknown property and/or assembly is entered directly in our solution, BSI Online.
